Old World Series

The Old World Series is a collection of cymbals that I have put extra time and work into creating. Each cymbal is shaped through multiple stages of hand hammering and lathing — I hammer the cymbal, lathe it, hammer it again, and continue this process until I find the right balance of sound and character.

Between each stage of hammering and lathing, the cymbal is given time to rest and settle. allowing the metal to relax before the next stage of shaping.

This process creates a complex, dark and lively sound with plenty of subtle nuances. All cymbals in the series also feature a handmade, low-profile bell, adding to their dark character and giving each cymbal a unique voice.

As the final step, I add a patina process to further enhance the cymbal’s character, appearance and depth.
